Sad News

Dear Bloggers,

It is with a sad heart that I let you know of Steve's passing on Sunday, August 2nd. His illness was far worse than even he imagined and he just couldn't recover. He and the doctors fought hard, but his liver and kidneys refused to respond to treatment. He died quietly in his sleep. At this point the reality hasn't set in and I expect him to call any minute with some silly Internet question. So I thank you in advance for giving our family a little time.

You can see a list of Steve's credentials in the About Me section of any of the blogs. What you may not know was his love of nature, cooking, organic gardening, and his family. This slideshow is a tribute to my big brother, the Steve I knew.

Thank you all for your support over the years.

Love, Carole

I'm stunned. We will greatly miss Dr. Steve, his unique talents, and all the hope and care he brought to so many. No doubt he benefited far more people than he ever realized with his amazing research and insights generously published for all.

Carole, thank you and bless you for all that you and your brother have given to all of us.

I am shocked but his long absense did not bode well. He died trying to make others better and for that he will surely have a place in heaven. My sympathy to the family.

Unbelievable. Why? I am shocked now reading this sad news. Life is SO unfair.
Steve was an exceptional scientist with such a kind heart. I always recommended his website to all my friends.
This sad news is heartbreaking.

Steve's deep insight and innate medical understanding was amazing.

We will always remember Dr Steve.
(Carole, I hope that you will keep this website up and running - I am sure Steve would have thought likewise - respectfully said)

Kindly accept our genuine condolences and respect for Dr Steve. God be with you and the family at this very sad time.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

I do believe that Dr Steve's legacy will live on though his good works.

Will miss his wit and great blogs.

I was afraid of this, with the big gaps between posts. Still, it was a terrible shock to read this!

This is truly a huge loss to the cancer and health community. I do wonder why the disease was so virulent and what happened to Steve, much to young to die.

Steve was one of the few people who could put together the scattered bits of medical knowledge into a coherent blog post. He was correct in his thinking on how cancer evolves and survives, and how to attack it. His understanding was supported by much other research, so he was on firm ground in his assertions.

I looked forward to years more of his knowledge and understanding to be available to cancer patients.

This is a huge loss, and I don't understand how it could happen. If I believed in conspiracies...
